Finding a photographer is a little like finding a good friend - you want someone who gets you, who won't make you feel awkward, and who's actually going to show up for you. That's what I'm here for. As a Portland wedding and elopement photographer, I use a mix of prompts, classic poses, and candid shooting - some direction to get you comfortable, and then a lot of just paying attention to what happens naturally.
My editing style leans warm and film-inspired - rich tones, soft light, nothing too trendy. The kind of images that'll still feel right in twenty years.
Today I photograph weddings and life’s growing seasons across Oregon, always looking for the moments that will matter years from now.
Rain & Reverie Photography officially launched, turning a lifelong passion for photography into a business.
I began photographing more couples and preparing to launch my photography business before the pandemic paused those plans.
Photography remained a creative outlet throughout college as I continued documenting friends, couples, and everyday moments.
I bought my first DSLR in high school and began photographing senior photos for my step-sister and friends.
I'm a wedding and elopement photographer, wife, and mom based in Hillsboro, Oregon. Photography has been part of my life since I was little - my dad had a darkroom in our basement, and that's where I first learned to see. These days I bring that same love for real, preserved moments to couples and families across the Pacific Northwest.
When I'm not shooting or editing, I'm probably surviving toddler life, watching Oregon Ducks football, or running on energy drinks. I'm a people person through and through - I genuinely love getting to know my clients, and I feel lucky every time someone lets me into their day.
My husband and I found Madison to take our maternity photos and we're SO GLAD we did. She did an exceptional job and we're so happy with the final images. She listened to inspiration I had culled, and was also fun to be around, putting both of us at ease. Would definitely recommend for the quality of work, her professionalism, and for her personality.

"The way she captured my son's silly and wild personality but also the sweet moments between us is something I will be forever grateful for."
She was so relatable and we got to share our wins and woes of having toddlers during the session. The experience alone would have been enough — but then I got the photos and was blown away. These toddler years are so fleeting, and I will cherish these pictures forever.

"If you want to see yourself as wonderful as the world sees you, you MUST book with Madi."
We are naturally pretty awkward and unsure about posing and facial expressions, but she captured each moment naturally and let our personalities shine through genuinely. If you want to see yourself as wonderful as the world sees you, you MUST book with Madi.

For weddings and elopements, 6-12 months out is ideal - popular dates fill up fast. For portrait sessions, a few weeks usually works fine.
